HISTORY:
The aircraft type (together with the F1AZ), that ensured peace and stability, in the Southern Africa region, for almost 22 years!
The South African Air Force (SAAF) received the first of 16 Mirage F1CZ's in
1975 for No. 3 Squadron at Waterkloof AFB. These aircraft saw action against
Angolan forces (supported by Cuba) in the 1980's in support of UNITA.
In this aircraft (no 203) Maj. Johan Rankin of the SAAF downed his second Cuban Mig 21 late in the border war. This aircraft was also the first to receive the three-tone grey camouflage. The aircraft were retired in September 1992 and their air defense role now rests with the Denel Cheetah C.
This aircraft comes already configured for FS2002. Unzip the file to the Aircraft folder in FS2002.
Unzip the smoke fx file to the effect folder in FS2002. Use the 'I' to turn on smoke.
